Disney is testing a new way to bring the Disney Store experience back to fans, and it’s happening sooner than you might expect.
Starting in May 2026, Disney will roll out a new concept called “Disney Store Limited Time.” These are temporary retail locations designed to give fans an in-person shopping experience again, complete with the kind of storytelling and atmosphere the brand is known for.
The project is being developed in partnership with Go! Retail Group, a company known for pop-up and seasonal retail spaces.
Two locations are already confirmed:
- Ross Park Mall in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – opening May 23, 2026
- Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus, New Jersey – opening Fall 2026
These aren’t going to be your basic storefronts, either. Disney says their goal is to create spaces that feel like an experience, not just a place to shop. Visitors can expect to see themed displays, interactive elements, and a layout that leans into Disney storytelling.
The stores will carry official Disney merchandise. That means apparel, toys, collectibles, and likely some location-specific or limited-time products.

There’s also a focus on the small details that longtime fans will recognize. Disney confirmed that these locations will include signature touches like opening ceremonies and other in-store moments designed to make a visit feel like an event.
This is an exciting shift! Since most traditional Disney Store locations closed in recent years, shopping has moved online or to the parks. This feels like a step back into physical retail, but in a more flexible, test-and-learn format. Bring back that nostalgia!!
Disney hasn’t shared how long each location will stay open, but the “Limited Time” branding suggests these won’t be permanent fixtures.
Grand opening details, including any special events or exclusives, are still to come.
Bottom line. If you’ve missed walking into a Disney Store, this might be your chance to experience it again, just in a shorter window.
