The Disney Parks Blog posted an interesting story this morning, sharing that Spaceship Earth at Epcot will be transformed into a giant Death Star at an exclusive meet-up event.
The event will be held on December 5 to celebrate the December 15 release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and unfortunately, is already filled to capacity. The party will be held after hours at Epcot and had a limited availability, so space filled quickly after being announced.
A few years ago, Spaceship Earth was turned into a giant Mike Wazowski (Monsters, Inc.) during a press event, so the projection technology has been used before. Despite not getting to see these effects in person, I’m looking forward to seeing photos of Spaceship Earth as the Death Star and wondering if this is something we will continue to see in the future.
Did you get tickets? If not, is this something you would have liked to attend? Let us know in the comments below!

Leah grew up in a little farming town in Illinois, right on the Mississippi River. Her Chicago-born husband, David, left the city for her, and they're now raising their three children (Jacob, Jonah and Lydia) just 12 miles from her hometown. As the Senior Editor of the DIS (wdwinfo.com), Leah spends a lot of time writing about, reading about, and discussing Disney. So, it should come as no surprise that one of her family's favorite ways to spend time is going to Walt Disney World and traveling on Disney Cruise Line. She also enjoys shopping, watching movies with her husband and doing crafts with and for her kids.
