Disneyland preparing to roll out paperless FastPass

Several sources are reporting that the Disneyland Resort has begun installing the infrastructure and could begin testing its own version of FastPass+ in the near future.

The new system would likely allow guests to book a FastPass+ reservation using the Disneyland app on their smartphone or via kiosks placed around the Parks, with reservations only allowed on the day of the visit.

The rules would be similar to the current system, with only one reservation allowed at a time, or until a certain amount of time had passed.

It’s not known if the new system would rely on barcodes from ticket media and smartphones, or if some sort of RFID technology would be put in place.  It’s also not known how many additional attractions, if any, would begin offering FastPass when the new system begins rolling out.

What is known is that MagicBands would not be part of the Disneyland FastPass+ system.
