As Disneyland Park gets ready for the May 31st opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, it has some crowding and traffic issues to sort out. According to the Orange County Register, in an effort to find ways to reduce congestion Disneyland will be running a test from March 28-30, during which products at the Tiki Juice Bar will only be available through mobile order via the Disneyland app.
The Tiki Juice Bar serves Dole Whips and Dole Whips floats, iconic Disney treats that many guests consider an important part of their Disney vacation. Guests who prefer to order their Dole Whips directly from a human cast member will still be able to do so at Adventureland’s Tropical Hideaway.
This test run appears to be a part of Project Stardust, a Disneyland initiative that seeks to address crowding problems in advance of the Galaxy’s Edge opening by making small, incremental changes to park design and day-to-day operations.
On busier days, The Register says Disneyland may close the Tiki Juice Bar entirely to avoid a congested area in front of the Enchanted Tiki Room.
The mobile-only test may be altered on the fly during the 3-day run, and a cast member will be standing by to help guests with mobile order and direct those who wish to pay at the counter to the Tropical Hideaway.
