If you’ve ever enjoyed the calming tones of the Sitar in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, chances are you were in the presence of talented musician Stephan Mikes. Sadly, the Disney musician’s wife, Bonnie Pedicord Mikes, took to Facebook on October 23rd to share the sad passing of her husband, accompanied by a series of photos.
“My husband, Stephan Mikes, 1954-2023, has left this world — my sadness knows no boundaries — this is how I want to remember him.”

The Disney Cast Member was recently recovering from quintuple bypass surgery. On September 9th, the musician told his Facebook friends and fans that he was looking forward to returning to Disney and putting together a series of meditation programs. A week on from his tragic passing, our hearts go out to the family and friends of Stephan Mikes. We are also so grateful that he shared his beautiful gift with so many of us when we visited the Anandapur village at Disney’s Animal Kingdom park.
