The Disney100 Celebration is Taking Over TikTok

If you’re an avid user of TikTok, then you’ve probably seen the Disney100 celebration game taking place on the app since October 16. TikTok users are obsessed with this new card-collecting feature reminiscent of Pokémon. The idea is to collect all six featured characters before the next week begins and new characters are introduced. Users can collect, trade, and show off their collection by attaching the profile frame they’re given when they complete each week’s collection.

How to Play

In order to unlock characters, you have to collect cards. You can do so by typing “Disney100” into the search bar on TikTok and clicking on the Disney100 header at the top. If you scroll down, you’ll notice an option to collect cards. This prompts you to do several things – post a video, follow an official Disney account on TikTok, watch their videos, and many other tasks. Completing these will earn you cards, varying from a quantity of one to three. These tasks reset at 3:00 A.M. EST/12:00 A.M. PT; however, the cards you’ve collected will remain unopened in your inventory until you decide to use them. You can open as many or as few cards as you want at once. Once you open a card, you are presented with a character from that week’s selection – or, unfortunately, you can also open a Blank Card. This is basically a waste of a card, and no character or prize is granted. If you collect all six characters before the end of the current week, you’ll unlock a profile frame for your profile picture on TikTok.

Week 1

Week 1 began October 16 and ended October 22. The six characters featured on Week 1’s cards included Mirabel from Encanto, Darth Vader from the Star Wars franchise, Woody from the Toy Story series, Minnie Mouse, Iron Man from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and Elsa from Frozen. If you unlocked all six characters, you were given a Woody/Toy Story-themed overlay for your TikTok profile picture.

Week 2

Week 2 began October 23 and ended October 30. The character’s that could be collected that week included Moana from Moana, Miguel from Coco, Kim Possible from the animated series Kim Possible, Chewbacca from the Star Wars franchise, Black Panther from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and Mandalorian from The Mandalorian on Disney+. If you collected all of the cards for Week 2 then you would have been given a Loki-themed profile frame. This was probably chosen to spread awareness for Loki Season 2, which began on October 5 and will have the last episode air on November 9 on Disney+.

Week 3

Week 3 possible characters to unlock are: Asha from the upcoming Disney film Wish (releasing November 22, 2023), Grogu from The Mandalorian, Lizzie McGuire from the Lizzie McGuire series on Disney Channel, Mickey Mouse, Groot from the Guardians of the Galaxy movies (and other MCU films), and Joy from Inside Out. Once all cards have been collected, you will be given a BB-8 profile frame.

Spoilers ahead!

Fans of the Disney100 Celebration on TikTok have discovered that you can foresee what Week 4 entails, as well as the probabilities of unlocking each character. By clicking the question mark icon at the top of the Disney100 page, you can read all about the celebration. This information page tells you who is available each week, including Week 4, which doesn’t introduce any new characters – it just allows you to collect any of the characters from previous weeks. This page also tells you the probabilities of unlocking each character. Turns out, Mirabel, Moana, and Asha are the most rare with a one percent chance of unlocking them. These three characters become even more rare on Week 4 with a point thirty-three chance of unlocking.

Wild Cards

Wild Cards will be introduced in Week 4, which are essentially free cards that allow you to choose any character to unlock. Didn’t unlock Woody from Week 1? Don’t worry! If you complete all daily tasks in one day, you’ll be guaranteed a wild card and can choose to unlock Woody or any other character you missed out on. This means if you joined the celebration in Week 2, you’ll be able to unlock all Week 1 characters by the end of Week 4. You’re only given seven wild cards – one card for each day of Week 4. You have to exchange your wild card for a character immediately, or it will expire by the end of the day.

Cards that you’ve unlocked by completing tasks don’t expire. This means you can save them up and start the next week with a greater amount and a better likelihood of unlocking the characters you want! Let us know in the comments section if you’re collecting and how it’s going so far!
