Disney California Adventure is almost finished remodeling the classic attraction Twilight Zone Tower of Terror into the new Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! attraction that is set to open on May 27, 2017. The new attraction is themed as the fortress of Taneleer Tivan (otherwise known as the Collector). Taneleer Tivan makes an appearance in the Guardians of the Galaxy film and is played by Benicio del Toro.
According to Slashfilm, it looks as if the Collector’s fortress may make an appearance in Thor: Ragnarok. Slashfilm credits “theme park consultant Reza Lackey” with a good eye for catching the similarity with a building in the Thor: Ragnarok trailer and the new Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! attraction in Disney California Adventure.
The Collector’s Fortress can be spotted 57 seconds into the trailer. The fortress is part of the city skyline behind Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster character.
In an article entitled “Everything You Need to Know About Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!”, Oh My Disney stated that “there will be many Easter eggs for fans to discover” and that “some Easter eggs are even going to be items that haven’t even been seen in films or TV yet, so they will slowly reveal themselves to us as the film and TV universe continues to expand!” It seems as if this might be the first Easter egg to the new Disney California Adventure attraction.
