This summer, an all new DuckTales series is coming to Disney XD! This series is a revival of the original series that premiered in 1987 and ended in late 1990. Earlier today, Disney released the first trailer for the upcoming cartoon series!
In the trailer, Donald Duck introduces his nephews to Scrooge McDuck, who is their grand uncle, and will apparently be looking after Huey, Dewey, and Louie “for the weekend.” The trailer proceeds to show the crazy antics that the boys and their grand uncle get into.
This is a star-studded cast, which features Danny Pudi, Ben Schwartz, and Bobby Moynihan as Huey, Dewey, and Louie respectively. This comedy trio has been successful on NBC comedies; Danny Pudi is best known for his character Abed Nadir on the comedy series Community, Ben Schwartz is best known for his character Jean-Ralphio Saperstein on the sitcom Parks and Recreation, and Bobby Moynihan is still a prominent cast member on Saturday Night Live.
David Tennant, best known for his role as the Tenth Doctor on Doctor Who, voices Scrooge McDuck.
Other prominent characters Webby Vanderquack and Launchpad McQuack will be voiced by Kate Micucci and Beck Bennett respectively.
Additionally, it was announced today that Disney XD has already ordered a second season of the series.
