Just when we thought the hotel rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter couldn’t get any more beautiful, Disney has given us the first look inside the newly refurbished spaces.
Staying at this resort feels like stepping right into the heart of New Orleans – or, in my case, New Orleans Square at Disneyland. Its vibrant façades, elegant walkways, and lush greenery bring the city’s charm to life right at Walt Disney World. Did you know that the French Quarter is the smallest resort at Walt Disney World? It’s so quaint and charming, and with the new updated rooms, it’s just moved to the top of my list for my next visit!
Let’s take a peek inside. First, I love the artwork featuring scenes from Disney’s The Princess and the Frog, including Princess Tiana, Prince Naveen, Louis, and Charlotte La Bouff in their Mardi Gras best threads. The circular frames are gorgeous, and so is the upholstery on the back of the bench in the image below. There are also nods to Mardi Gras celebrations with artwork that features iconic purple, gold, and green beads. I also love the wrought iron railings that are everywhere outside.
If there’s one thing I love more than anything, it’s a built-in. Look at how gorgeous the new dresser/coffee area is! I love everything from the background on the shelves near the coffee maker to the design in the middle of the bathroom area doors. The chosen colors are just perfect, and I can hardly wait to step inside and take it all in.
The corners of the bathroom mirror are so lovely, and the tile adds such a nice colorful touch to the space.
The headboard above the beds has a gorgeous mosaic pattern. If you look closely, you’ll catch hidden details like Tiana’s sparkling tiara, drums, and trumpets – an homage to New Orleans’ jazz roots.
The theming is continued with updated textures and designs throughout the newly refurbished Doubloon Lagoon pool area and Mardi Grogs pool bar, now with a brighter, more upscale look including airy blues, black-and-white tiles, and wrought iron details. They perfectly weave in those New Orleans elements while complementing the relaxed poolside vibe.
