If you’ve been waiting for the perfect time to plan a trip to Walt Disney World, allow us to nudge you gently (but enthusiastically) toward this fall. Because between trick-or-treating at Magic Kingdom, savoring limited-time global delicacies at EPCOT, new entertainment offerings, and Mickey Mouse pumpkin wreaths, there’s a little something magical for everyone.
Whether you’re a foodie, a thrill-seeker, or just someone who desperately needs a break from your inbox, here’s why autumn at Walt Disney World should be your next great adventure.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
This fall staple is back at Magic Kingdom Park. Running on select nights through Halloween, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party lets you trick-or-treat your way through the park, experience lower standby waits at popular attractions, catch the spellbinding, fiend-packed Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, and meet rarely seen characters (hello, new Jack Skellington).
Pro tip: the the pitch-black Space Mountain Halloween overlay is a must-do, and the costumes? Fully encouraged. (Check out my tips on how to maximize your MNSSHP night!)
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival
Foodies, assemble. From late summer through fall, EPCOT transforms into a globe-trotting tasting tour with dozens of food booths, live music, festival shopping, and culinary demonstrations. This year’s International Food & Wine Festival runs from August 28th through November 22nd.
Sip a German ale, munch on Korean BBQ, and challenge your family or friends to find the best dessert (spoiler: it’s probably in France).
Brand-New Additions Lighting Up the Parks
2025 is turning out to be quite the year for fresh magic. Check out these shiny new experiences debuting just in time for your fall visit:
Disney Starlight Parade – The first nighttime parade in over 10 years will bring even more life to Magic Kingdom evenings with dazzling lights, sparkling floats, and fan-favorite characters. It’s classic Disney nostalgia wrapped in next-gen sparkle.
The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure – At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Ariel is making waves in a reimagined stage show debuting on May 27th. Expect stunning effects, vibrant puppetry, catchy tunes, and a heartfelt retelling of the undersea adventure you know and love.
Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After – Also debuting on May 27th at Hollywood Studios, this new live stage show puts Disney’s baddest baddies front and center. You’ll enter a mysterious realm within the Magic Mirror, a thrilling and darkly humorous world led by dozens of Disney’s most notorious villains, as they break through the glass to take the stage in lively numbers — including Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent.
Enjoying these new entertainment offerings in the fall time -well after the summer crowds have dwindled- is a smart move!
Deals, Discounts & Pumpkin-Spiced Savings
Planning ahead has its perks! This fall, Disney is offering special booking discounts on resort stays, including:
- Up to 25% or 30% off select Disney Resort hotels (yes, even the ones with monorail access)
- Room + ticket packages with early theme park entry and Magical Extras
And because cooler fall weather means lower crowds (especially mid-week), you might just find yourself scoring an extra spin on Space Mountain without the hour-long wait.
Pack the Ears, Let’s Go
So whether you’re in it for the villains, the treats, or the jaw-dropping parade lights, this fall is shaping up to be one of the most exciting seasons Walt Disney World has ever hosted.
