“Harmonious” and “Disney Enchantment” Fireworks to Premiere October 1st

After all the excitement over fireworks coming back, Disney Parks Blog has just announced that two new fireworks shows will premiere on October 1st, the kick-off day for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary.

Both “Harmonious” at EPCOT and “Disney Enchantment” at Magic Kingdom will begin the 18-month long celebration.

“Harmonious” will take place in the World Showcase Lagoon. Disney has described this show as one of the largest nighttime spectaculars ever created for a Disney park. Many visitors to EPCOT have witnessed the large setup in the waters of the lagoon and others have witnessed the fireworks testing taking place weekly after the park has closed. The anticipation for this show has certainly been building.

We have only heard rumors before for a new Magic Kingdom show. Now we know “Disney Enchantment” will grace the skies over the Magic Kingdom. It seems that this show will at least temporarily replace “Happily Ever After” throughout the 50th which is being celebrated from October 1st, 2021, and for the remaining 18 months. No official end date for the celebration has been announced. This show will feature music, enhanced lighting, stunning fireworks, and immersive projections not only on the castle but all the way down Main Street, U.S.A.

There will also be new daytime entertainment at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. “Disney KiteTails” will take place at the Discovery River Amphitheater starting October 1st as well. Performers will fly windcatchers and kites of all shapes and sizes out on the water. Some will stretch as long as 30 feet and depict Disney animal friends such as Simba, Zazu, Baloo, and King Louie.

Mickey Mouse and friends haven’t been forgotten for the festivities. As they host the “World’s Most Magical Celebration,” starting October 1st, they will be decked out in sparkling new EARidescent fashions. You’ll also have the chance to see the characters several times a day during “Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade.”

Fab Five? How about Fab 50? You will be able to see 50 character scultpures displayed across all four theme parks. These scultpures should be fun to look for and photograph as part of this lengthy celebration of Walt Disney World.
