Incident Reported at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Monorail Platform

UPDATE: Sadly, this guest passed away Tuesday evening.

According to an article on EW, a body was found on the site. A representative for the Orange County Sheriff’s Office told EW that the deceased guest’s cause of death was “an apparent suicide.”

On Tuesday evening, just before 7:00 pm Eastern, a guest sadly jumped or fell from the monorail platform at Disney’s Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World. The person’s condition cannot be confirmed at the time of this post.

We can confirm that guests are not being permitted to board the monorail at this time. There are numerous emergency vehicles on the scene, including police cars, fire trucks, and at least one ambulance. The area where the incident occurred, facing the DVC parking area, is blocked off by police tape.

A Valet cast member informed one of our team members that someone either jumped or fell from the monorail platform, but could not share any further information.

No official confirmation has come from Disney, medical authorities, or law enforcement about the incident. At this time, no additional details are available.
