John Stamos to Star as College Basketball Coach in Dramedy Series for Disney+

John Stamos is set to star in new dramedy series for Disney+. Big Shot is being written and executive produced by David E. Kelley and Dean Lorey, with Brad Garrett, who originated the idea, also aboard as executive producer.

The show features Stamos as a temperamental college basketball coach who gets fired and has to start over as a teacher and coach at an elite all-girls private high school.

Agnes Chu, Senior Vice President for Content at Disney+, commented on the casting:

“John is absolutely perfect for this role and we are thrilled that he’ll bring his incredible talent and hear to this project. Disney has long been known for our aspirational sports stories, and we are so proud to be working with David and Dean on a relatable series that both inspires and entertains. It’s a great fit for Disney+”

There is no word on when the 10-episode series will be available on the new Disney streaming service.
