Jump in and Help Celebrate Family Volunteer Day with Disney on Saturday, November 23rd

Your family can jump in and join families and cast members from around the world as they celebrate Family Volunteer Day this Saturday, November 23rd.

The celebration will begin at 10:30am on Saturday at the Marketplace stage in Disney Springs. Bob Chapek, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, along with Mickey Mouse and friends, will kick off the worldwide day of service. Bob and Mickey will be joined by the Aguirre family, who were recently named as the Disney and Points of Light Volunteer Family of the Year. After the kick off, guests can stop by the “Volunteer Village” between 11am and 2pm to help out with fun volunteer activities that will support local nonprofits. Volunteers can write postcards for Operation Uplift, help Clean the World, and help out in a Disney Conservation Fund nature activity. Guests who participate will be eligible to receive offers at select Disney Springs dining and retail locations valid that day*.

In honor of Family Volunteer Day, Disney will donate $1 for every purchase at Goofy‘s Candy Company and Once Upon a Toy at Disney Springs on November 23rd. Donations will go to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. During their time at “Volunteer Village”, guests will have the opportunity to help build a giant mystery-themed Lego mural that will be donated to Clean the World. Guests will also receive information on how to get involved in volunteering in their own communities.

At Disneyland Resort, guests can stop by Disney California Adventure between 10am and 2pm to help create badges for Inside the Outdoors students and teachers. Residents and visitors of Anaheim City can also join Disney VoluntEARS between 12 and 2pm at Eucalyptus Park to help pack kits for Chrysalis or at Farmers Park to pack comfort kits for Mercy House.

Disney cast members and their families will also be jumping in and joining volunteer events to support local communities all around the world.

If your family would like to participate but are not able to be at Disneyland or Walt Disney World, be sure to share a photo or video of your family volunteering this Saturday by using #VolunteerTogether and tagging @DisneyParks.

Family Volunteer Day is hosted by Points of Light and sponsored by The Walt Disney Company. Schools and nonprofits in the United States can join the Disney Family Volunteering Reward Program and earn Disney parks tickets by hosting volunteer family events in their communities.
