The newest addition to Disney Springs opened up just days ago, and, if you like all things warm weather recreation, you might want to add it to your vacation must-see list.
The Ron Jon Surf Shop at Disney Springs is located in Town Center at the base of the Lime Garage escalators, and boasts two floors filled to the brim with all of the items you might need for a Central Florida vacation. If you’ve never been to the Ron Jon flagship store in Cocoa Beach, the Disney Springs version will be a great sneak peek. I was told by a Ron Jon team member that the Disney Springs location has a third of what the Cocoa Beach shop offers, but you’d never know it judging by the vast array of merchandise for sale at this location.
Let’s take a tour around the store…
Guests can purchase Ron Jon Disney Springs branded t-shirts, but, at this time, I did not see any cross branded Disney and Ron Jon merchandise.
You’ll find tumblers of all shapes and sizes here at Ron Jon, including tumblers made by YETI. If you’re on the hunt for a great t-shirt, there is no shortage of them here. In fact, I’d say you might have a hard time whittling your choices down to just one.
The majority of the clothing on the first level of the shop is Ron Jon branded apparel. Sweats, hoodies, and t-shirts in both long and short sleeve are available in every color of the rainbow.
A surfboard signed by 11-time surfing champion, Kelly Slater, is on display near the stairs leading to the second floor. An escalator and elevator are also available in the store to help you reach the second floor.
Just ahead to the right as you reach the top of the stairs, you’ll find bags that would be great options for long days of touring the Disney parks. The popular Fjallraven Kanken Mini ($70) is available in a variety of colors, as is the Dakine Jive crossbody bag ($16).
A variety of women’s swimsuits, hats, and coverups can be found on the second floor. Ron Jon also carries a variety of Simply Southern apparel and key rings.
A large assortment of men’s swim trunks and tanks from Hurley, Rip Curl, and O’Neill can be found along the back wall of the second floor.
Men’s Salt Life t-shirts are available in a variety of prints and styles in both long and short sleeve. Ron Jon also offers caps, just in case you forgot yours at home.
Of course, the kids can’t be left out of the fun, and you’ll find slides, water shoes, toys, and swim floatation supplies right around the corner from the men’s swimwear.
Continuing down the wall, you’ll discover swim goggles for the whole family, as well as snorkel and mask sets ($24.99), waterproof floating smartphone dry bags ($19.99), and pool towel clamps.
A variety of skateboards are available at Ron Jon Surf Shop, and you’ll find them just behind the cash register on the second floor. Skateboards from Ron Jon, Globe, Paradise, Land Yachtz, and Carver are currently being offered. Just a note: skateboarding is not allowed on Disney Springs property. You’ll have to wait to shred.
And what would a surf shop be without surfboards? Guests will find several options next to the skateboards on the second floor.
If you’re in the market for a new pair of flip flops, slides, sandals, or slip ons, you’re in luck. Ron Jon has you covered with footwear for the whole family from Roxy, Reef, Quicksilver, and Vans. Vans Classic Slip Ons are available for $50.
Kids’ shirts and sweatshirts of all colors and sizes can be found upstairs just down the wall from the shoes.
Small toys and activities, including Crazy Aaron’s Thinking Putty (small: $3.99, large: $9.99), can be found on the second floor of the shop.
Backpacks by Vans ($36) and Dakine ($45), and hip sacks by both Vans ($30) and Billabong ($25.95) are available in the center of the second level. If you’re looking for a new park bag, you might find one that’ll do the trick here. And, while you’re upstairs, be sure to stop and take a peek at the large lighting fixture made out of surfboards. Too cool.
Small knick knacks by Natural Life are located just to the left as you reach the top of the stairs.
Beach-themed home accessories round out the offerings on the second level of the store. If you’re looking for a souvenir for a non-Disney loving friend or family member, these might meet the need.
Currently, Walt Disney World annual passholders receive a 10% discount and cast members receive a 20% discount on purchases at Ron Jon.
In my opinion, Ron Jon Surf Shop is a great addition to the merchandise locations at Disney Springs. It offers so many items that are perfect for touring the parks, and, if you’ve ever gotten to your vacation destination without your child’s favorite pair of Speedo goggles (not that that’s ever happened to me…ahem), you might be glad to have the options in this shop available to you.
