Hulu has ordered a pilot for a new drama series based on Marvel Comics’ Runaways books.
The pilot is being penned by Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, who will also produce. The initial order from Hulu is for the pilot plus additional scripts, so a full-season could be in the works.
Runaways centers around a diverse group of teenagers who join forces against their parents, after the teens discover their parents are involved in an evil crime organization.
Marvel’s Runaways would join several Marvel TV series already being offered, including Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC and several that are streaming on Hulu-competitor Netflix (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, The Defenders).
