New additions coming to this year’s Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend

Disney is making changes to the 2016 Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend, expanding it to three days, adding a new race, and revising the course. Chef Remy will host this inaugural event.

In addition to the Mickey’s Holiday 5K and the Wine & Dine Half Marathon, a Disney Wine & Dine 10K will be offered. The new half marathon course will go through Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and ESPN Wide World of Sports.

The races will all have a morning start time this year, which is a change from past events. Lumiere’s Two Course Challenge will be available for runners who compete in both the 10K and the half marathon. Runners who complete this challenge will receive two inaugural finisher medals, plus the half marathon medal.

The Post Race Party will be held Sunday night at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.

Registration begins March 29 at noon.

Leah grew up in a little farming town in Illinois, right on the Mississippi River. Her Chicago-born husband, David, left the city for her, and they're now raising their three children (Jacob, Jonah and Lydia) just 12 miles from her hometown. As the Senior Editor of the DIS (wdwinfo.com), Leah spends a lot of time writing about, reading about, and discussing Disney. So, it should come as no surprise that one of her family's favorite ways to spend time is going to Walt Disney World and traveling on Disney Cruise Line. She also enjoys shopping, watching movies with her husband and doing crafts with and for her kids.
