Walt Disney World guests have a new way to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month this May, thanks to a fresh lineup of Disney PhotoPass Magic Shots now available across all four theme parks and select resorts.
Running through May 31, these limited-time photo opportunities bring beloved characters and meaningful artistic touches into your park photos. The result is something a little more personal than your standard castle pic.
Hiro and Baymax from Big Hero 6 lead the lineup. Guests can find these larger-than-life additions in EPCOT’s Japan pavilion, along Hollywood Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and near Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom. They’re also available at several outdoor locations at Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Disney Springs, giving you a few extra spots outside the parks.

At Disney’s Animal Kingdom and beyond, Russell from Up joins the fun. His Magic Shot is found in several scenic spots, including Discovery Island bridges, near Expedition Everest, and at Pixar Plaza in Hollywood Studios. You’ll also find him at Magic Kingdom and select Disney Resort hotels such as Wilderness Lodge and Polynesian Village Resort.

For something a bit more artistic, a Bambi-inspired Magic Shot pays tribute to Disney Legend Tyrus Wong. This one has soft visuals and is found near the Tree of Life in Animal Kingdom and in front of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Hollywood Studios.

Rounding things out is a playful Turning Red Magic Shot featuring Meilin Lee. Guests can find it at Pixar Plaza, EPCOT’s China pavilion, and inside the Disney PhotoPass Studio at Disney Springs.

These Magic Shots are included with your PhotoPass photos, though you’ll need to purchase Memory Maker or individual downloads to take them home. As always, just ask your PhotoPass photographer what’s available nearby. Some shots rotate, and not every location will have every option at all times.
If you’re visiting Walt Disney World this month, it’s an easy way to add something meaningful and maybe a little unexpected to your photo collection.
