UPDATE 12/4/20: Disney has now extended the testing of the new ‘Shop in Store’ feature to include Everything Pop at Disney’s Pop Century Resort.
Guests wanting to use the feature that allows for a mobile check out experience can now find it in use at both Everything Pop and EPCOT‘s Mouse Gear. Simply press the “+” button at the bottom of the home screen in the My Disney Experience app and click on the ‘Shop in Store – Now Testing’ tab to begin.
New today in the My Disney Experience app, you might notice a ‘Shop in Store – Now Testing’ button.
Merchandise Mobile Checkout is only available at select stores. Guests can grab a designated Mobile Checkout shopping bag and scan the items they wish to purchase. Simply tap ‘Check Out’ when you’re finished and complete the purchase right on your phone. Guests using this new feature will need to show their QR code to a cast member as they exit the store.
As of the time of this post, MouseGear at EPCOT is the only shop participating in this test, but that could change at any time.
