Big changes are on the way for one of Disney Springs’ most beloved sweet spots.
As previously announced, the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop will temporarily relocate from its longtime home in the Marketplace to the former Sprinkles location in Town Center while a major renovation takes place. During a visit to Disney Springs today, we got a closer look at the progress on the work happening at the future temporary location, and it’s already looking much more substantial than what many guests might expect from a short-term move.

The former Sprinkles building now features newly installed Ghirardelli signage on multiple sides of the structure, including the iconic illuminated lettering that guests have come to associate with the famous chocolate brand.

In fact, if you didn’t know this was a temporary home, you might assume it was a permanent addition to Disney Springs.
That level of investment makes sense when you consider the timeline. Ghirardelli’s renovated Marketplace location is not expected to reopen until Spring 2027, meaning guests will likely be visiting this temporary Town Center location for quite some time.
Ghirardelli has called Disney Springs home since 1996, making it one of the destination’s longest-running tenants. The upcoming renovation will bring expanded indoor seating and efforts to reduce wait times.
Disney Springs has been a cherished home for Ghirardelli for nearly 30 years, and we are proud of the magical chocolate memories we’ve helped create for guests from around the world. Our longstanding relationship with Disney is an important part of that story, and this next chapter allows us to thoughtfully evolve the space while honoring its legacy. We look forward to continuing to serve guests at our temporary location in Town Center during this transition and unveiling an updated space in 2027. ~Lacey Zane, Vice President of Restaurant & Retail at Ghirardelli Chocolate Company

While there’s still work to be done before the move takes place, today’s photos show that progress is moving along. Between the prominent new signage and the extensive exterior updates, the future temporary location is already starting to look like a place Disney Springs guests will feel right at home visiting for Ghirardelli’s famous sundaes, shakes, and complimentary chocolate squares.
We’ll continue keeping an eye on construction and share more updates as the relocation gets closer.
