The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) remains closed following a tragic shooting that took place on January 6, 2017 at approximately 1:00 p.m. Eastern near baggage claim. As of the time of this post, five people have tragically died and nine people have been injured.
WESH 2 is reporting that the Orlando International Airport (MCO) has already increased surveillance and vigilance following this tragic event today. The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a ground stop for Fort Lauderdale-bound flights.
There has been no word about any Fort Lauderdale-bound flights being diverted to Orlando International, but if you are traveling into or out of Orlando today, you can expect delays.
