NOTE: After we published this story, we noticed that the same message in red appears at the bottom of each day in April, May, and June (where park hours are listed). At this time, we are not certain if this is a glitch or something more. If you have theme park tickets that require park reservations and you have upcoming plans to visit Magic Kingdom, we advise that you make those reservations now.
About an hour after our original post went up, we received a push notification in the My Disney Experience app regarding today’s status of Park Hopping. Interestingly, the message in red shown in our original post has disappeared, making us believe that there could have been a glitch starting with dates from April 5 going forward.
Original post:
In the My Disney Experience app for Thursday, April 4th, Walt Disney World has noted that “The Park Hopper option is currently unavailable” for Magic Kingdom. They also state that guests with park reservations for this park may still enter, so if you’ve got a reservation already, there is no need to worry.
Since Magic Kingdom has reached capacity for today, Disney is encouraging guests with the Park Hopper option to visit EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Animal Kingdom theme park.
It’s important to keep checking the My Disney Experience app throughout the day, as the capacity for Park Hopping is subject to change at any time.
