Permit May Hint at Time Frame for New Cirque du Soleil Show

Late last year it was announced on the Disney Parks Blog that Cirque du Soleil is developing a new show in Disney Springs. The new show “will pay homage to Disney’s rich history of animation, with a vivid story told in a way that only Cirque du Soleil can deliver.”

While the opening date has not been officially announced, a notice of commencement filed recently with the Orange County Comptroller might give us an idea of what the opening time frame might look like. Notices of commencement typically expire one year after filing, unless another date is specifically noted. The permit expires on January 30, 2020, and while that is almost certainly not the exact opening date, it is unlikely the new show will debut before that time. When more details are released we will report on them immediately.
