Guests may soon see vertical construction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as Walt Disney World recently filed two permits with Orange County for the “core and shell” and “foundations and structural steel” for the upcoming Star Wars themed land.
Construction for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has been mostly foundational to date, but the “shell” permit will give guests a new peek into the future land. This exciting update indicates that the expansion is underway and could be ready for its projected opening in 2019.
According to the permit’s expiration date, the construction is expected to be completed by September 26th.
