After earning another $16 million over the weekend, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story became the 28th film to earn more than $1 billion at the box office worldwide.
Disney has had a big year at the box office office. In addition to Rogue One, three more of their 2016 releases have reached $1 billion: Captain America: Civil War, Finding Dory, and Zootopia.
Rogue One is the 13th Disney film to reach the mark and the third Star Wars movie to do so. The stand-alone story is also the number one at the U.S. box office for 2016 and 7th all time. Star Wars: The Force Awakens is number one on the all time list.
