Saudi Arabian Officials Attempt to Persuade Disney to Build a New Theme Park

According to The Wall Street Journal, officials from Saudi Arabia met with Disney on Tuesday, April 3, in the attempt to potentially persuade Disney into building a theme park in their country. The bid for a new Disney theme park in Saudi Arabia seems extremely unlikely, and Disney “has given no indication it will support the Saudi pitch.”

A spokesman for Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority said they’ve targeted Disney among other entertainment giants like Universal and Warner Bros. Saudi Arabia is planning entertainment hubs throughout their country including “theme parks, resorts, live shows and everything in between.”
