SeaWorld Adds Killer Whales to Its Roster of Up-Close Tours

SeaWorld Orlando already gives guests the opportunity to get more familiar with the animals in its custody during the Dolphin and Penguin Up-Close Tours, and now they have added Killer Whales into the mix.

A new 45-minute tour will focus on the beloved (and often controversial) icons of SeaWorld. The Killer Whale Up-Close Tour will educate visitors on the species by showcasing trainers, information on the whales as individuals, and an interaction with one of the whales. SeaWorld announced the new tour in a press release; here is their description:

“During the tour, which takes place daily, SeaWorld’s trainers share stories and information about the killer whales, demonstrate how the whales take part in voluntary husbandry sessions and discuss their healthcare, feeding habits and more. The engaging and interactive tour also gives participants the chance to try their hand at a session with the whales alongside a trainer. Throughout the entire experience, guests can take photos to help forever preserve the memory of the one-of-a-kind experience.”

The tour will run Orca enthusiasts $79, and space is limited so getting online reservations in advance is recommended. It begins at 10 am and will last approximately 45 minutes.
