As much as I love enjoying a new land at the Disney Parks, I have a weak spot of appreciation for having first seen the area come to life. In the current age of technology, we are so lucky to be able to watch Disney updates and new areas right through the construction process.
We have a fascinating view of what is happening and how each project is progressing with every construction project update, something that was unimaginable prior to the last fifteen years. That is the feeling I got when I saw this construction update from one of the international Disney Parks in Hong Kong, where World of Frozen appears before your eyes. I feel as though witnessing a space be flattened and subsequently built into a new fantastical world that only previously lived on the animated screen and extended within the imagination is nothing short of magical.
In those first moments, as the drone moves through the streets of Arendelle, I feel myself walking through like a character from the movie, only this will be somewhere I can visit and see for myself, well outside of anything I could imagine.
As you can see from the drone video, the construction of the Arendelle village is almost completed – the clock tower, Elsa’s Ice Palace sitting atop the North Mountain and Arendelle Castle – all have set the scene for World of Frozen to come alive.
Our innovations make our storytelling better – richer, more immersive, and forever memorable to guests and consumers around the world. At the Frozen Ever After attraction, guests will have the opportunity to step into the world of Arendelle like never before and interact with the stunning, real-life scale Audio-Animatronics figures of our beloved “Frozen” characters as they embark on a whimsical journey. It’s been wonderful collaborating with Walt Disney Animation Studios to ensure that every detail of these characters – such as costumes and performances – feels like they’ve stepped right out of the movie.
I’m so proud of how our team pushed the boundaries to enhance the technology of the Audio-Animatronics figures as we bring this new attraction to Hong Kong Disneyland. Our figure of Elsa takes Audio-Animatronics technology to a whole new level. When you see Elsa performing her signature song “Let It Go,” her facial expressions and body movements will bring her to life like never before.
