A small fire, most likely caused by fireworks, broke out Saturday night in a tree near Disneyland’s It’s a Small World. Firefighters responded to the scene and the blaze was quickly extinguished.
According to Disneyland spokesperson Suzi Brown, the fire was in a backstage area and the attraction itself was not damaged during the blaze. The ride was closed briefly during the fire, but reopened later in the evening.
The facade of the classic attraction is currently being refurbished (thought the ride is still open) and it was initially thought that some of the tarps covering the ride had also burned.
No injuries were reported.
