Soarin’ at both EPCOT and Disney California Adventure will transform into Soarin’ Across America in summer 2026. In celebration of America turning 250 years old, guests will experience an all-new Soarin’ taking guests “from sea to shining sea” across America.
Almost as exciting as the announcement itself, Patrick Warburton reprised his role as Soarin’s “Chief Flight Attendant” to deliver the news. While we don’t know exactly where in America we’ll be Soarin’ to Patrick promises it’ll be a celebration fit for America’s “semiquincentennial”. Of course it wouldn’t be a pre-flight announcement without the reminder to pack your mouse ears aka “these little beauties” and maybe party favors like “a hotdog… and bald eagle”. It’ll be fun to see if Disneyland and Walt Disney World are both featured, especially since both parks have never been in the same film together. The Disney Parks Blog shared a look at Walt Disney Imagineering capturing footage for the new film. Disney also shared that Soarin’ Across America will highlight the country’s natural beauty and iconic city scapes.
While there have been multiple versions of Soarin’ in the past, this will be an all-new, immersive film and the first time Soarin’ has traveled across the United States. Soarin’ Over California originally premiered in 2001 at Disney California Adventure (DCA) and was brought to EPCOT in 2005 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Disneyland. The EPCOT attraction then changed to Soarin’ Around the World in 2021 for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary and the updated film eventually made its way to DCA. Additionally, the screens and film technology have been updated at both parks since the attraction opened.
It often seems guests prefer the original Soarin’ Over California version of the attraction as it has been brought back to both DCA and EPCOT for seasonal runs. While the iconic soundtrack is similar for both versions of the attraction, there is something sentimental about traveling through Yosemite National Park, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Napa Valley in the original film.
