Earlier this week, we gave you a look at some of the new artful food creations you can expect at Epcot’s upcoming Festival of the Arts. Today, new details have been released regarding Disney Theatrical Productions’ participation in the Epcot International Festival of the Arts. When the festival kicks off on January 13, 2017, you can look forward to all different styles and genres of music – with a bit of a Disney twist, of course.
There will be several pairings of talented Broadway artists who will perform music from some of our most favorite Disney on Broadway shows. These performances will take place on the America Gardens Theatre stage at 5:30 p.m., 6:45 p.m. and 8 p.m. Friday through Monday of each festival weekend.
Additionally, there will be other “visual and live performances” taking place in Future World Plaza to include “Epcot Living Statues, performances by Central Florida high schools and acclaimed university and college talent appearing through a partnership with Disney Performing Arts. Plus, Epcot’s American Music Machine will perform on the Future World Fountain Stage.”
Here is a look at the line-up so far:
January 13-16 and 20-23, 2017: Ashley Brown and Josh Strickland will perform songs from: Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Tarzan, Mary Poppins and The Little Mermaid.
January 27-30 and February 3-6, 2017: Kerry Butler and Kevin Massey will perform songs from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Tarzan, Newsies and Aladdin.
February 10-13 and 17-20, 2017: Kissy Simmons and Alton Fitzgerald White will perform songs from Disney’s The Lion King, Aida, Aladdin and The Little Mermaid.
The festival runs Fridays through Mondays from January 13 through February 20, 2017.
Stay tuned for more updates as we receive them!
