As is tradition for athletes who have accomplished monumental victories in their sport of choice, three players for the Houston Astros will be representing their World Series championship team at Walt Disney World this Saturday.
At 12:45 pm on the Magic Kingdom‘s Main Street U.S.A., MVP George Springer, Jose Altuve, and Carlos Correa will take part in a parade to celebrate their Game 7 win, their team, and the city they hail from. They have certainly earned a bit of celebrating, as their 5 – 1 victory earned the city of Houston their first World Series win in the 56 years since the team began.
The Astros players join a rich history of champions from all sports who choose Walt Disney World as a celebration destination, but most notably their brothers in baseball who have also used Disney parades for their victory lap: the Boston Red Socks back in 2004 and the Chicago Cubs in 2016.
Fans are expected and encouraged to line Main Street U.S.A. and cheer on their heroes. If you need help getting into the spirit, a hot dog at Casey’s Corner should do the trick!
