The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a string of burglaries at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa. According to a report in the Orlando Sentinel, there have been more than 20 cases of theft dating back to late December. In December, two suspects were seen trying to enter a room and, upon being seen by sheriff’s deputies, they fled to nearby Disney Springs. At Disney Springs, they were apprehended by law enforcement officials and were found with “several pieces of electronic equipment, including seven iPhones, a laptop and an iPad-that belonged to victims in two other burglaries at Disney’s Old Key West Resort.” The two suspects from Orlando, Jake Loren Blair (25) and Minoska Guillen (19), were still in jail this week on grand theft charges.
The article added that, in many instances, victims of the burglaries had not reported them to the sheriff’s office, instead reporting them only to the Disney security office at their respective resort. The article further alleges that there have been no more burglaries reported since Blair and Guillen were arrested.
