Technical glitch causes extra charges for Disney Vacation Accounts

Some customers utilizing Disney Vacation Accounts found that extra money was deducted from their bank accounts and credit cards and transferred into the vacation savings accounts as part of a technical glitch. A systems upgrade was responsible for the glitch and Disney is currently in the process of refunding the money. Members checking their Disney Vacation Accounts reported seeing double charges and incorrect amounts being deducted. The website was down for two days, but is now back up and running. Disney spokesman Bryan Malenius said, “We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused our guests and we are reaching out to let them know we are resolving the situation.” Disney also said they will work with any customers who had insufficient-funds charges on their bank accounts as a result of the mistake. A Disney Vacation Account is a way for people planning a Disney trip to save money designated specifically for their vacations. News source: Orlando Sentinel
