Tokyo Disneyland announced that they will introduce a new attraction set in the world of Sugar Rush in the Disney movie Wreck-It Ralph. The attraction will be located in Tomorrowland at Tokyo Disneyland starting in 2026. This new attraction will replace Tokyo Disneyland’s Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters.
The attraction’s theme, Sugar Rush, is a video game in which the story unfolds beyond the boundaries of multiple game center games. Ralph, who has played the villain in popular video games, embarks on an action-packed journey to prove that he is a true hero with a big heart. During their journey, they team up with the energetic Vanellope and have an adventure in the game world.
In this attraction, guests will take on the role of familiar characters from the movie to save the world of Sugar Rush, a racing game in the land of sweets. A glitch called the Sugar Bug, created by King Candy, is about to destroy the world. Together with Ralph, Vanellope, and the others, they will return Sugar Bug to its original form of cute sweets such as cookies and cakes.
Guests can expect to see Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters close in October 2024. The new Sugar Rush attraction will open in 2026.
The adjacent product facility, “Planet M,” will also undergo a theme change and renovation.
