Tom Hanks and Tim Allen who are respectively the voices of Woody and Buzz Lightyear in the Toy Story films recently helped kick off the annual Disney Toy Delivery at AdventHealth for Children in Orlando, Florida. During the event, the two stars distributed toys and took photos with the children who are in the hospital and their family members.
Disney’s annual initiative to distribute toys to children’s hospitals helps “promote normalcy, reduce stress and inspire play during what can be a difficult time for children.”
Senior vice president of Social Responsibility for The Walt Disney Company Elissa Margolis said, “The Toy Story films celebrate the importance of toys in a child’s life—they are a source of comfort, joy, and consistent companionship. By delivering toys to children’s hospitals across the country we hope to raise the spirits of children facing serious illness and make their hospital stay a bit more comfortable.”
Disney has pledged to deliver over $3 million in Disney products and toys to 450 children’s hospitals in the U.S. and Canada this year.
