Updated Views of Ongoing Refurb at Disney’s Grand Floridian Lobby

The ongoing transformation of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa‘s lobby is really showing progress. As one of the most recognizable spaces at Walt Disney World, it is looking more beautiful than ever. Guests visiting recently may have noticed that the new carpeting has been fully installed, replacing the darker tones of the previous design with a brighter, more colorful floral pattern that brings new life to the Victorian-inspired space.

The updated carpet features intricate floral details and soft pastel hues that complement the resort’s signature white-and-gold architecture. The result is a look that feels elegant but much lighter and more inviting than before. The lobby’s redesign continues Disney’s broader effort to refresh the Grand Floridian while preserving the timeless charm that has defined the resort since it opened in 1988.

In addition to the carpet, new furniture groupings have been placed throughout the lobby. The early additions feature graceful curves, neutral tones, and soft pops of color that coordinate with the new flooring. While some seating areas are open for guests to enjoy, it appears more furnishings may still be on the way. We’re thrilled to see the piano still remains!

Disney has not shared an official completion date for the project, but the current views give a clear preview of the resort’s evolving look – refined, airy, and distinctly modern while still unmistakably Grand Floridian. We love seeing the updated individual front desk(s), similar to what we see at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

For now, guests stopping by can admire the progress and catch a glimpse of the elegant direction the space is heading. With more finishing touches, such as the addition of a brand-new lobby bar and updated Tea Room, expected in the coming months, Disney fans are eagerly awaiting the fully refreshed Grand Floridian lobby, which promises to blend classic sophistication with a renewed sense of brightness and warmth.
