Walt Disney World After Hurricane Ian

This morning my wife and I woke up to brighter skies, some wind, and of course, rain. The worst part of the storm passed over us between 1 am, and 3 am. Heavy winds and rain continued until about 8 am. Thankfully Hurricane Ian has started to leave Florida, finally.

After checking outside of our home to ensure there wasn’t any significant damage, we decided to drive around and see what our area looked like after the storm.

At this point, the rain was light, and the wind resembled what we feel during any other thunderstorm here. As we drove around, we made our way onto Disney property.

We didn’t stay for long, but we did get some pictures, and I wanted to share those with all of you. I know some of you have probably been waiting to see what Disney World looks like right about now.

While we were driving around, I noticed many Reedy Creek vehicles and other utility trucks driving toward the parks. It looks like Disney is getting their crews out to the parks and roadways to clean up debris so that the parks can reopen tomorrow.

Have you ever been to Walt Disney World during a hurricane?

Hi, I'm Erica, and I write about all things Disney. Before working for The DIS, I was a theme park performer at SeaWorld, but I also performed at Disney. I have such an immense love for theme parks to the point I studied them in college.
