Earlier this year, we told you that Rafiki’s Planet Watch, Affection Section, and the Wildlife Express Train are all going to reopen this summer at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park.
Along with the return of those guest favorites, a brand new wildlife animation experience will open on July 11, 2019, when Rafiki’s Planet Watch begins welcoming guests once again.
The Animation Experience at Conservation Station will give guests the opportunity to learn more about how live animals have inspired some of Disney’s most iconic characters. Additionally, guests who visit will have the chance to create a personalized piece of Disney art featuring Simba, Zazu, Pumbaa, Timon from Disney’s The Lion King and others through an instructor-led animation class. Each session will be different so guests are encouraged to visit often in order to complete their collection.
This new way of connecting with the animals will open with Rafiki’s Planet Watch which reopens on July 11. Guests can learn how to draw Simba, Zazu, Pumbaa, Timon and more. FastPass+ will be offered for the experience and guests can begin making their selections now.
Other unique opportunities will be available once Rafiki’s Planet Watch reopens such as the ability to greet and hug the animals at Affection Section, catch a glimpse of medical procedures at the veterinary treatment window, learn how the animal care experts prepare meals for and care for the park’s animal residents and more.
