Today, The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History debuted at the Magic Kingdom and it is a FANTASTIC addition to the park. The brand new show happens in Liberty Square primarily above the Heritage House, but one show also makes use of a hidden window in The Hall of Presidents. The shows blend that classic Muppet humor that many have come to know and love over the years with two different stories – one describing the origins of the Declaration of Independence and the other is all about Paul Revere.
Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzie, and Sam Eagle perform in each show and town crier James “J.J.” Jefferson joins the Muppets for the Declaration of Independence show. The Declaration of Independence show runs just over 10 minutes long, while the Paul Revere show is closer to 8 minutes.
The only real issue with the show is the location. Like many of the great acts around World Showcase, The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History is completely unshaded and the hot Florida sun is brutal once it rises above the Heritage House. Either hit the first show in the morning before the sun is fully up or maybe wait until later in the day.
