Walt Disney World to evacuate Fort Wilderness campground

Due to Hurricane Matthew, Walt Disney World is evacuating its Fort Wilderness campground by 11:00am Thursday, October 6. They are relocating guests to other resorts when possible, but are “encouraging those who are able to leave the area to do so,” with a spokeswoman saying it makes more sense for people to leave property with their RVs than to risk damage to their vehicles. Disney and Universal have not yet announced if their theme parks will close. SeaWorld will close at 2:00pm on Thursday and will remain closed Friday.
