Beginning next week, anyone traveling to the United States will need to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test within one day of boarding their flight(s), according to an announcement from the White House on Thursday.
Previously, the proof of negative test results was required three days before travel.
The new requirement is for anyone coming into the U.S. regardless of nationality or vaccination status.
Additionally, the face mask mandate on airplanes and other public transit, which had been set to expire in January, will remain in effect through at least mid-March of 2022.
