If you are passing through the Walt Disney World area, you can have so much fun without investing in theme park tickets. Here are ten things you can do with your family to get a little sprinkling of pixie dust while you are in the vicinity of Walt Disney World without entering the parks:
Try A Round Of Mini Golf
If your family is a fan of miniature golf, you’ll find some really fun course options at Walt Disney World. Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf and the Winter Summerland Miniature Golf are both full of fun challenges and perfectly themed to enjoy a piece of Disney.
Visit the World of Disney Store
Stop off at Disney Springs and take a stroll through the World of Disney. Take in the music and the ambiance as you surround yourself with all the merch you can imagine. Even if you aren’t looking to spend any money, I love walking through this shop every time I am in town.
Have Lunch at a Resort
There are so many fantastic restaurants to enjoy in Walt Disney World that it is hard to know where to start. Don’t feel confined to Disney Springs; even without being a resort guest, you can still enjoy all of the dining locations within the hotels.
See the Drawn to Life Show
If you are looking for a show or some form of entertainment, consider Drawn to Life Presented by Cirque du Soleil and Disney! It’s an incredible show, exclusive to its home in Disney Springs, and filled with all the wonder and creativity you could hope for, perfectly fitting for the area!
Take a Hot Air Balloon Ride
Something you might not instantly consider as an option in Walt Disney World is a Balloon ride. Aerophile – The World Leader in Balloon Flight, is located on the West Side of Disney Springs and can give your family a once-in-a-lifetime experience with a view they will never forget.
Enjoy the Electrical Water Pageant
Watch on as whimsical sea creatures sail across Seven Seas Lagoon in an electrical nighttime display. The show can be enjoyed from several vantage points around the area and is accompanied by classic Disney tunes during this floating parade.
Have a Spin on the Marketplace Carousel
Magic Kingdom isn’t the only place you can enjoy a whimsical ride on a carousel. Stop by Disney Springs and take a spin on the Marketplace Carousel to add a little magic to your day.
Go Bowling at Splitsville
If an indoor activity is on the cards, book a lane at Splitsville Luxury Lanes in Disney Springs and enjoy a few games of bowling. Don’t miss the appetizers and cocktails in the Splitsville Dining Room, where everything from sushi to pizza awaits.
Try out the Vintage Amphicar Tours
If you are looking for a point of difference, something you’ve likely never done before, then the Vintage Amphicar Tours are the place to be. Is it a car? Or is it a boat? Turns out, it’s both; drive your way across the lake in Disney Springs for some gorgeous views and an unforgettable experience.
Take a Carriage Ride
Should you need a more personal touch to your time in Walt Dinsey World’s surrounding areas, consider a horse-drawn carriage ride at either Port Orleans Riverside or Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.
