I recently visited this new exhibit in Epcot at Walt Disney World. Colortopia is presented by Glidden and is located in Innoventions East (the Innoventions located next to the Electric Umbrella) in Future World. You should take a little time to enjoy this exhibit with the family.
When you arrive you may have a short wait to enter the “Power of Color Theater.” They will take about 10 people in to this unique room where you can see your shadow in different colors. It tells you with sounds and narration about how colors can make you feel different emotions.
The second area you can enjoy is “The Color Lab” and there are two stations where you can mix different colors to create new colors. At the second section, Spinning Spectrums, you can test your perception of color. As the disks spin faster, can you guess what color it is?
The third zone is ” Color Our World.” This room was my favorite. You are given a magic paintbrush and can “paint” a white mural on the wall with color. There are a number of “paint” cans where you can change the color of your brush.
This exhibit also has an app you can use as you are walking around the World Showcase. You can download the app in the Apple App Store or Google Play. You will be able to save the colors you like in the different attractions. You can also learn more online about Colortopia. The app allows you to color any photos that you take, along with a game.
Next to the attraction is a nice little area to relax and enjoy the air conditioning for awhile. This is a great place to escape the weather outside.
