A Close-Up Look at ‘Rivers of Light’ Costume Details

The much-anticipated ‘Rivers of Light‘ nighttime entertainment at Disney’s Animal Kingdom made its official debut last night and the show did not disappoint according to many comments seen online this morning.

I’m loving all of the gorgeous details that I’ve seen so far and wanted to share a close-up look at some of the costume details you may not have noticed.

As you can see, the vibrant colors, embroidered detail, all the different textures used, and the careful beadwork, these costumes are magnificent! In the video below, “Costumer Amanda Meldrum explains how intricate and complex the show’s costumes are, requiring 81 different embroidery motifs, 180 different fabrics and more than 250 various bead designs. Amanda also shares how their unique production process included both ancient weaving and dying techniques – as well as the use of digital technology – to create the perfect look.”

Take a peek and let us know when you plan on seeing the show!
