Hey Disney Friends, I think we can all agree that bringing the magic of Encanto into Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a pretty perfect match. We already know that Tropical Americas is going to introduce an exciting new chapter to the park, but D23 Horizons has just given us so many more details about the Encanto attraction that I am even more excited to see this one come to life!
The attraction now has an official name, Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto, and the story takes us right into the heart of the Madrigal family’s Casita. We’ll be visiting on Antonio’s special gift day, when he receives the ability to communicate with animals. It is a story that fits beautifully into Animal Kingdom, celebrating our connection with the living world and reminding us that we are all part of the same familia, whether or not we have a special gift of our own.
Once inside Casita, guests will board ride vehicles inspired by pieces of furniture brought to life by the magical house itself. These vehicles will move guests through the rooms of the Madrigal home, with Casita’s furniture reacting to the scenes around us along the way. The attraction will eventually take us upstairs into Antonio’s room, which has been transformed into a lush rainforest.
The attraction is filled with more than 50 animals for guests to enjoy, again, tapping back to that overall theme we love in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Walt Disney Imagineering worked with Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment Team to make sure the animals featured in the attraction are accurate to Colombia, following research by the Imagineering team in the country. Even better, some of the original Encanto voice cast will return to lend their voices to the experience, including Stephanie Beatriz as Mirabel, Jessica Darrow as Luisa and Diane Guerrero as Isabella.
Perhaps the best news for families is that Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto will have no height requirement, meaning little Disney fans can enjoy the adventure too. This is shaping up to be such a colorful, immersive addition to Animal Kingdom, taking us beyond what we saw in the movie and allowing us to actually step inside Casita and experience Antonio’s magical world for ourselves.
