Last week, Disney announced the new “Jungle Book: Alive with Magic” show coming to Animal Kingdom on Memorial Day Weekend. According to wdwmagic.com, casting is just now taking place for the show. The listing is looking for four performers, specifically “musicians proficient on Indian style instruments that will perform live with vocalists and dancers.” The instruments that will be used in the show are the Tabla, Sitar, Bansuri, Dilruba, and Ravanahatha.
The show will be performed on Discovery River for a limited-engagement and is taking the place of Rivers of Light, which was set to debut April 22, but is not yet ready to open. Inspired by The Jungle Book film that just opened in theaters, the show will combine music and special effects, all with an “Indian influence.”
“Jungle Book: Alive with Magic” will debut May 27, 2016.
