Disney’s Animal Kingdom recently announced that their new nighttime spectacular, Rivers of Light, would be delayed and not opening April 22 as initially announced. Instead, they’ve now announced a new set of nighttime experiences coming to the park Memorial Day Weekend.
The new part of the announcement is the “Jungle Book: Alive with Magic” Show that will take place for a “limited-engagement” on Discovery River. Inspired by The Jungle Book film that just opened in theaters, the show will combine music and special effects, all with an “Indian influence.”
Another new offering is the Harambe Wildlife Parti. With upbeat African music, exotic food and drink, the Harambe Marketplace will transform into a nighttime dance party. Harambe isn’t the only place to party – Discovery Island Carnivale will celebrate nature with “music, dancers, stilt walkers, food and more.”
Information had already been released about The Tree of Life Awakens, but a new photo was shared. A projection show will “awaken the tree” with magical fireflies, bringing to life all the animals that are carved into its trunk and branches.
Kilimanjaro Safaris After Dark – Now that the park will be open into the evening hours, special lighting will be added to the safari to allow for better nighttime viewing.
The new signature restaurant, Tiffins, will be open for lunch and dinner.
