Four Rides that could use an Upgrade at Disney World

I have put a lot of time thinking about a lot Disney World rides lately. With the soon to be additions of Mickey and Minnie’s runaway railway and the Tron roller coaster among others, I was thinking of other rides in each of the theme parks that could use a good upgrade whether if it’s just to add a few things or complete overhauls.

  1. Mickey’s PhilharMagic at the Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom has a lot of rides I enjoy but also need upgrades but this one stands out the most. I enjoy this ride for a lot of different reasons but this one sticks out the most of desperately needing an upgrade. The 3D used for it looks like it was made in 2005. This ride also has some special effects to go along with the 3D such as smells, water, and air effects that most of the time don’t work the way they are intended to or not at all.

Some suggestions for the upgrades make a new video that has different songs from different eras of Disney movies and rotate them in and out with the old video much like how Star Tours does with their videos. They could do a version in October around Disney villains that involve some of their iconic songs such as Hellfire from Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Friends on the Other Side from Princess and the Frog, and Be Prepared from The Lion King.

  1. Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! at Hollywood Studios

This is the worst show at Hollywood Studios. When watching the show it feels like you are watching it from an oven because of how hot it gets in the show area. The sets used look outdated and warn out. And the routine that they do with the fake fan that is actually a cast member is good the first time but gets stale if you have seen the show multiple times.

Now I understand this is a half of a park for now but soon the two lands will open and I would suggest that the upgrades happen after they are finished. I suggest that they do one of three ideas that would improve the show. The easiest suggestion is to include scenes from the other movies in the Indiana Jones franchise like the Temple of Doom or the Last Crusade. The second is if you still want an Indiana Jones presence in the park make the show into a ride much like the one out in Disneyland. And the final suggestion is to do a Star Wars Indiana Jones crossover much like they did a few years ago during a special event. Now I know that Star Wars is already taking over the park already but it could be a special event show that is only done once per day or once per week.

  1. Spaceship Earth at Epcot

Spaceship Earth is my favorite ride at Epcot so there isn’t a lot that I want to be changed with it but there is one thing sticks out the most. I feel like the ending of the progress of technology could be improved to show the advancements that have been made today.

  1. Dinosaur at Animal Kingdom

There are a lot worse rides to choose from at Animal Kingdom especially in that section of the park but if this is the best ride in that area it wouldn’t hurt to upgrade it just a little bit and the best part is the ride doesn’t need to be closed for a long period of time to do the upgrade. The idea I have is to just upgrade the video at the beginning of the ride by making it look like it was produced today and not in the late 90’s early 2000’s.

Do you agree with my list do you not I would like to know what you think. Are there rides that you think or want upgrades? Let me know in the comments and maybe I will do another piece on those rides.
