Around here, we always love hearing the news of a baby animal being born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World. Today, Dr. Mark Pennington shared that a new Abdim’s stork chick recently hatched and joined DinoLand U.S.A. and we thought you should be the first to know!

Dr. Mark says that these storks often build their nests using sticks on rocky terrain. The adult birds can be identified by their signature black feathers, blue faces, and a red patch near each of their eyes. Guests should keep an eye out for the new addition during their travels around DinoLand U.S.A.
